Searching for Images

Finding images for these assignments is an important part of the process.  It is your way to explore the whole world of images and find ones that you respond to on a personal level.  Think about the assignment before you search for an image and try to avoid clichés.  Beach scenes that make you feel calm, snowboarding shots that look exciting, the tragic images of 9-11.  These are all obvious and their impact is self-evident; they do not leave you much to think about.  Instead, try to find images that are unique, unusual, unexpected…images that you respond to personally and individually.

Putting keywords into Google Images is one way to find images for these assignments but another way is to think about the kind of image that might work and then search for it. Here a re a few different sites that may help you with this process.
